10 years and counting

This August marks Horsepower Inc.’s 10 year anniversary.  The company’s beginning dates back to the summer of 2002 when members of their machining crew (Integrated Machine Co.) were utilizing the facility after hours to improve the performance of their fuel injected bikes.  Horsepower Inc. performance products were then born.

Horsepower’s first and prominent product is the original big bore throttle body.  It was the first product of its kind and quickly became popular in the motorcycle industry.  It was an easy, affordable product that was notorious to other performance upgrades.  With the success of their throttle body, they tapped into a wider range of upgrades including air cleaners, injectors, flanges, seals and a whole line of accessories for their trade.

Often copied, never duplicated, Horsepower Inc. remains to be the leading manufacturer of throttle bodies.  Several other companies have designed throttle bodies of their own, but Horsepower has survived an industry low, and stayed on top while the other companies either dwindled or took a different direction.  Now being one of the few companies that offer this style of product, they have been able to put a mark in the v-twin industry with their large variety of products, and have become superior to their competitors.

Horsepower Inc. is known to be the first company to offer an upgrade for new products in the industry.  Recently this year, they became the first company to offer an upgrade option for the throttle-by-wire throttle body.  They are able to produce products that are efficient and compatible with all factory components, including options like cruise control.  Customers are able to purchase a Horsepower Inc. product by talking to a real person with any technical questions, install the product on their own, and get a better looking product that improves the performance of their bike. 

With the success they’ve had in these ten years, we all look forward to the next ten years as the industry grows even more.  Horsepower Inc. hopes to be one of those companies to grow with the industry and continue to bring the latest and greatest upgrades to the market, and from what we’ve seen, their future looks bright.

Integrated Machine Co. continues to machine Horsepower Inc. products while both businesses are managed in the same building.  Both companies are family-owned and operated and have built a solid reputation in the motorcycle and manufacturing industries through a blend of several key elements: Made in the USA, attention to quality and delivery, efficient production, and their straight forward relationship with customers.
