5 Great Gifts for Your Top Clients

Each year we celebrate special occasions - anniversaries, Christmas, New Year, etc. - and for business owners such as ourselves, we see to it that our clients become part of all our merrymaking. The simplest way to do this is by sending gifts. However, each year we are also faced with the dilemma of what to give them.

Giving your clients gifts on special occasions, or even unannounced occasions, can keep your business top of mind with your clients and give you an edge over your competition.

Not sure what to buy? Here are 5 ideas that I’ve used in the past:

  1. Personalized Items - Before deciding what to give your clients, it would be great if you had a sense of what their likes and dislikes are. If your client is fond of cooking, you can maybe get him or her a chef's coat. If your client loves car accessories, then you can maybe get car stickers. Not only will your client appreciate the fact that you pay attention, but if you get these items personalized, they will also recognize the effort you put into your gift.
  1. Books - Books or other literature are one of the best things to give because there are a vast collection of these to choose from. You have the option to give your clients business-related books or inspirational reads. Or you can give them something you're sure they'd like. Another idea is to give them the latest issue of your favorite magazine, something that you find interesting that you would like to share or recommend.
  1. Digital Picture Frame - Gone are the days where people buy film, take pictures and have them developed. In today's digital era, people would just load there pictures into a computer, laptop or tablet, and view them there. But with a digital picture frame, you get to have loads of pictures anywhere you want to place them. They're perfect to have in your clients' homes or in their own offices, and they can also entertain guests with them.
  1. Unique Food Items - You may think that food baskets are such a cliche, but you have to admit that this is the easiest gift you can give, especially when you have a lot of clients. What you can do, though, is to send food items that are rather special, instead of the usual assortment of bread, fruits or grocery items people usually give. You might want to give them homemade specialties, products unique to your state, or something delivered from abroad.
  1. Simple Card - Of course, there are time when business is down, and we don't exactly have the budget to give our clients extravagant gifts. Consider sending a meaningful card. While it may seem small, sometimes a simple card can be enough to warm the hearts of your favorite clients.
