Do You Do Enough Promoting Your Business?

In order to make your business the success you want it to be, having the right mix and means of promotions is something you can never take for granted.

Whether you are a small mom and pop shop, a midsize company or one of the larger brands around, your business will have a tough time surviving without proper promotions.

When the talk of promotions comes up, this means more than just telling a few people here and there about what you do. It requires using all the promotional tools at your disposal – marketing, social media, networking and conferencing events, signage and more.

With the New Year here, take a few minutes below to see if you have all your promotional needs covered.

Spread the Word on a Regular Basis

Among the ways to properly get your business recognized:

  1. Signage – It may seem like a no-brainer but how effective are your signage efforts? Whether you are using a led sign or another means of signage, make sure you get your brand spotlighted and on a regular basis. With the right Light Emitting Diode (LED) sign, your business can stand out from the competition, not to mention leave consumers with something to remember about your brand. When looking for the right LED sign provider, get plenty of samples for starters. You should have custom content that speaks to your brand and is eye-catching. Also make sure your signage is just the right size, meaning don’t try to cram too much information onto it. Lastly, the sign should have contact information (a phone number, website address etc.) so consumers have an easy means by which to reach you;
  2. Marketing – While signage should be part of your marketing efforts, it certainly is not the only means. Market your brand whenever possible locally (and nationally if you sell outside your home base) via traditional means such as flyers and email marketing. If you have a mobile-friendly site, mobile marketing can be a boon to your business. Also make sure that your satisfied customers do their share of marketing for you, i.e. word-of-mouth. One of the many benefits of having happy customers is that they are more likely to spread the word about their experiences doing business with you. Even if they tell just a handful of family, co-workers, friends etc. about your business, it increases the odds of more sales for your company;
  3. Social networking – Some business owners note that they’re reluctant to use or even avoid social media because they have trouble getting a true read of its value to their brand. While social media is far from perfect, it can be very beneficial to your business’ brand. Even better, social media is for the most part free, albeit for the time and effort necessary to do it properly. If social media has been lagging in your brand’s promotional needs recently, make 2016 the year you become more socially active. Put together a strategy of what you want to say and on what sites you want to say it. You should even consider using videos to socially promote your brand. Sites like YouTube and doing your own in-house brand videos and then getting them out on Facebook, Twitter etc. are great opportunities for your brand to be seen.

Properly promoting your business certainly doesn’t have to be rocket science.

Start with the three areas above and you will enhance your brand’s recognition and more than likely your revenue stream.
