Improve the Health of Your Business

What keeps you up at night as a business owner in 2015?

Whether it is keeping your finances in the black, having to make the tough call of letting an employee go, keeping your marketing and/or advertising budget in check, many decisions come with running your own company.

With that said, making sure you hire and retain solid and long-term employees should always be high on your list of priorities.

When you have solid and long-term employees, you benefit from:

  • Less turnover
  • Experienced personnel
  • Building upon relationships with customers
  • Dedication to long-term company goals

Health Insurance should be a Priority

One of the priorities you should never overlook when running a company is making sure your workers are happy.

Face it; happy workers tend to be those employees who not only will give your customers good service and be quality co-workers with the rest of your team, but they are also more likely to stay put with you and your business for a longer period of time.

One of the ways you can earn the trust and dedication of your employees is making sure they have a dependable health insurance benefits package in place.

In order to find the best health care insurance plans, you should regularly review the difference products on the market. If you have had a benefits plan for several years, don’t assume it is the best you can do. Simply put, review your benefits package regularly to see if it can be improved upon.

The healthcare portion of any benefits package you offer and provide employees should at minimum provide basic healthcare needs. If you decide to include dental and/or vision coverage; even better.

Employees Want Solid Coverage

According to a report from U.S. News & World Report, there are myriad of reasons why you want to offer employees a good health insurance package, some of which are basic common sense.

When looking for the right benefits package or considering changing the current one, don’t zero-in strictly on price.

You want a healthcare benefits package which not only provides reliable doctors and medical services, but also offers great customer service. If your employees have to spend a portion of their day on the phone with health insurer customer service reps, it takes away time they should be doing their jobs, including helping your customers.

Finally, any health insurer your business works with should typically come to your office or at least provide written and/or video information on their current available plans, any changes in services provided, and of courses any changes in pricing.

In a day and age when most employees don’t stay in one place for too long, having a good health insurance plan in place is certainly your business.
