WOMbeat! -- Putting Word-Of-Mouth (WOM) on Warp Speed

The good news keeps on coming...and we owe it all to you! Thanks to Idea Café and our winning their “Innovation & Originality Grant” in January, the interest level in WOMbeat! continues to rise. Just this past week, we learned that WOMbeat! founder, Linda Olson, was honored as one of the “Tampa Bay 100” by Tampa Bay CEO Magazine. You can read the full story here if you like.

As you may know from our recent updates, we have used the winning proceeds from the “Innovation & Originality Grant” to continue updating the website. Some of you may have already seen many of the new features we have implemented on our website, including a new home page and a new page for business owners (like many of the Idea Café regulars) so they can learn more about WOMbeat! However, our primary effort these days is to improve the performance on the site.

Frankly, we were running into performance issues on the site due to the increased traffic and user registration. With a business like ours, this is mission critical. If people visit our site and have a bad experience, they may not come back. First impressions are so important, and we are working hard to put our best face forward.

By the second week of April, we should have the performance running at warp speed. Then, we will be back to working on finishing up those really cool advertising and customer retention tools for business owners that will actually result in more customer referrals. How? By doing two things:

(1) Giving their customers a better reason for spreading the word, and
(2) Making it much easier and simpler for them to do so.

So what does that mean? By mid April, I hope you will come back and visit the site. Let us know what you think. And hopefully, by our next update, we will be able to announce more progress on our other development work. So please stay tuned…

As always, feel free to drop us a line anytime should you have questions or want to learn even more.
