3 Tips To Grab Your Customers’ Attention

In a world where it is so easy to become distracted and miss things that are right in front of us, how can business owners be sure that they are marketing in a way that catches the attention of the public, and makes them memorable? It’s not easy but it is possible, and when it is done right, it can make you stand out from the rest of the advertisers vying for everyone’s attention. Here are some tips to get you started.

Write A Memorable Headline

If you are putting an advertisement in print or online, you must have a headline. Of course, an ad that doesn’t have a clever headline or an ad that relies solely on the message and the image within it may well catch some people’s attention. The trick, though, is making sure they remember what they saw. Without a headline, that’s difficult. When writing a headline, you need to ensure that it is catchy; it needs to grab the reader’s attention within three seconds. That means it needs to be short enough to be read in that time frame but still contain the right message. It will take practice, and you may want to hire a specialist ad company or copywriter to think it up for you, but if you do this well, your headline could become a slogan that works for you time and again.

Use Video

Video is a great way to grab people’s attention. If you decide to include a video on your website, it needs to be relevant to what you’re selling and how you’re selling it. Write a sentence above the video so that it works like a tease, letting people know that there is a secret about to be revealed in the video below. That tease, by the way, is just another form of headline writing (which is why it is so useful to be proficient at creating them). People are more likely to remember an advert in a video than anything else because it is using more senses than a standard print ad or radio ad would so make the best use of this medium if you are planning to make a video.

Movement

Any movement will automatically catch a passerby’s attention. You might choose to have a swinging sign outside your shopfront which people won’t fail to notice as they walk past. When they spot it, they’ll have seen your store rather than your neighbor’s. You will be the one they remember as they walk on down the street, or better still, your swinging sign might remind them that they need something you sell! You could utilize custom flags at a trade event, as these will, again, literally capture someone’s attention and draw them to your booth rather than someone else’s. These flags can be seen from a lot further away, so more people will head to your stand because they will have been alerted to the fact that you are there. Other ways to use movement include driving a car or truck with a message and your phone number written on the side or having a moving window display.
