Don’t Go to Sleep on Your Content Marketing Needs

Running a small business dictates that you cover a lot of territory on a daily basis.

With that being the case, is one of those needs making sure you are doing all you can when it comes to content marketing?

Without content marketing, you could be missing out on opportunities with consumers.

So, is content marketing a big part of your business efforts?

Make Sure Consumers Know About Your Brand

In getting the most possible for your brand, make sure content marketing has a prevalent role to play.

For instance, do you blog?

Having a blog can do wonders for your brand.

To start, your blog is an opportunity to tell consumers what you have to offer. It can also set you up as an authority in your particular industry.

If you have not been blogging up to now, start doing so.

Some pointers for your blog should include:

· Message – What do you want your blog to get across to consumers time and time again? While it is fine to promote your brand, do not make it where all your posts are in essence advertorials. Doing so can turn consumers off in a fast manner. It can also lead to issues with Google if you come across as pushing too much sales.

· Timing – Although you do not need to blog each day, do not go too long between posts. Consumers will tend to tune you out if your posts are too infrequent. You also stand less of a chance of climbing up the Google rankings ladder if your posting is only once in a while.

· Socializing – Once you have a blog post published, be sure to promote it on social media. Being relevant on social media sites allows you to do several things. First, you are promoting your brand to millions of consumers. Second, social media allows you to engage with consumers on Facebook, Twitter and more. Last, you have the ability with social media to talk to the buying public 24/7. Doing so means you are in essence always open for business.

· App – If you do not have a small business app, change this moving forward. Your app can be a great tool for spreading the word about your brand. As an example, your app can be in use for all kinds of worthwhile content. Not only your blog posts; but content from others in your respective industry. This gives consumers coming to your app a lot of good information about your line of work.

· Writers – Last, if using guest writers for content on your blog be sure to vet them ahead of time. Make sure they have meaningful experience on the topic they are discussing. They should also be willing to respond to consumer comments on any articles they author. Having a dialogue with consumers is good for you as a small business owner. The more the author engages consumers, the more you stand out as a responsible owner in those you allow to blog for you.

Whether you do content marketing in-house or seek help, do not neglect this all-important aspect of brand promotions.

As a small business owner, how do you use content marketing to your advantage?
