How to Create a Successful Crowdfunding Video For Your Business

Do you want to launch a crowdfunding campaign and garner success from it? One of the best ways to achieve that is to create a good crowdfunding video to reach goals.

But where can you begin? Read on as I show you excellent advice to start creating videos for your campaign and garner success for your business plans.

How to Create a Crowdfunding Video

There are many steps to look into as you conceptualize and shoot your video. These are the seven basic ones that can help you delve into further detail and have you create an amazing crowdfunding video to get your viewers to take action:

1.  Identify Your Brand and Strategy

Before you begin setting up your camera equipment, you need to have an idea of the way you want your product or service to be seen by potential investors.

Think of these important questions:

  • What is this video all about?
  • Who are your product/service’s end users
  • How does it address your target market’s needs?
  • What are your product and/or service differentiators?
  • What is the unique selling proposition?
  • Why should your target markets use it?
  • Why should the viewers invest in?

Once you answered these questions, it can determine what your brand is. It can also help you plan how to position your offerings to potential investors and the target market.

Both your branding and strategy give viewers an idea of what your direction is. If they can't see that branding strategy, then investors won't see anything moving forward with your idea.

2.  Focus on Storytelling

Telling a story is a powerful method to convey your message. While there are so many advantages to storytelling, the one main benefit is that: No one would say no to hearing a story!

To tell your story, determine your venture's purpose and ask yourself: Why are you pursuing this idea? What compelled you to take action and is there meaningful advocacy that inspires you to push through with the idea?

Next is to conceptualize. How do you want the content presented to viewers? You can do this by drawing out your video's panels on paper before you start your video.

3.  Set Your Video’s Tone

Besides telling your story, you also need to set the tone of your video, which would determine the mood or emotion you want your viewers to feel.

Do you want to deliver your content in a hilarious or serious way? Would you like the viewers to feel and respond heartwarmingly or inspired? Or maybe a mix of both?

Set your tone based on what product or service you offer. Not only should it produce a positive response, but stay sincere and truthful. You may want an experienced writer to draft scripts then run drafts to your team to see what gets the best and expected response.

4.  The First 30 Seconds Is CRUCIAL

Did you know that people have an attention span of only eight seconds? With that in mind, you need to make sure that your first 30 seconds count! You need to deliver the message within that first half-minute for your viewers to stay interested throughout the entire video.

If you can, put the value proposition in the first ten seconds, answering the question: Why do you need to make this a reality?

That’s why you need to figure out what your branding strategy is to show what your viewers should know about the business. If you can’t do that within the first few seconds, you lose viewer interest as they won’t know why they still have to watch the video!

So drive your message clearly during the first half-minute, then conclude with a bang during the last 90 seconds.

5. Be Yourself

Lastly, and this is the most crucial one to follow, you need to show YOUR personality. Remember: Investors invest more in the personality rather than the idea itself!

State what your purpose is and show who YOU are. Investors want to learn about both the business and the one who conceptualized it.

What kind of person are you and what are your motivations to create and showcase this idea?

Investors will then see who you are, as the idea is only as strong as the person who brings it to life.

6.  Lighting and Audio Quality

Once you’ve conceptualized what the video will look like and what you will say (and how you’ll say it), the next thing to do is to ready production!

Ready a good camera that produces clear media, focusing on good lighting. This creates an impact on how useful the video is.

You can get the lighting right by ensuring that you have a clear background and placing yourself away from it for a better depth of field.

Then, position yourself about 45 degrees away from the source of light, avoiding glare. Your position should be to the right or left area of your frame for a more interesting visual, also giving you space for words and graphics you can edit in.

Furthermore, focus on sound quality, having clean and clear audio for viewers to easily listen to what you have to say. Invest in a high-quality microphone and be sure to keep it close to your mouth, speaking clearly and with an enthusiastic tone. Also, be sure that the area around you is quiet!

7. Editing and Post-Production

Once you finished shooting your video, it's not yet up for posting or showing just yet! You need to edit the video, either having a team like Goliath Brisbane Video Production or using video editing software.

The video may require some edits such as added animations and words to convey emotions and clarity. It may also require more editing to ensure that the picture is clearer and brighter and that the sound is understandable, maybe even adding music (without copyright).

Once everything’s done, post it in your appropriate channels and set meetings with potential investors. This can be the way to introduce who you and the idea are, creating the flow to your pitch. Good luck!
