How to Organize Your Office and Boost Your Productivity

Numerous studies have shown that our environment influences our productivity and concentration. In order to achieve a successful career you need to organize your office properly and encourage positive atmosphere and working enthusiasm.

Long hours at work can create bad mood and stress due to the lack of concentration and motivation created by improper working ambient. Therefore, in order to improve your productivity you need to work on the organization of you workspace.

Provide a comfortable high chair with armrests if your job requires spending a lot of time on the computer. The proper chair will provide the full support during the day and it will help you concentrate on your work. When choosing a work desk you should look for one that has enough drawers and enough space for a computer screen.

Organize

Your work desk should be positioned diagonally from the door so you can have a good look at who is entering your office. Another important thing is to avoid sitting across your colleagues or your boss because it can have a negative effect on your subconscious and create conflicts. Equip your office with plants with big leaves which will enhance the working ambient by giving it warmness and comfort. Avoid having shelves without a way to close them and hide all documents and folders because it can have negative effect on the working ambient.

If you want to boost your comfort level you should have the ability to adjust the blinds. It is not recommended to have documents scattered across the worktable because it can affect the mood and decrease you productivity. Find at least five minutes to tidy up the mess on the table before you go home. Surround yourself with a color that pleases your eye and thus restore the working energy required for a successful day at work. Light blue and green are good examples of color that have positive influence on concentration and motivation. Don't forget to deflect any incoming call that may disturb you from work.

Avoid heavy foods

People often do not have a lot of time for a healthy diet at work so they often end up eating unhealthy fast food which influences their mood. Pizzas, burger and snacks shouldn't be a part of your routine because they create a feeling of tiredness. Instead eat fruits and vegetables with wholemeal rolls and drink natural juices. Eight hours of sitting is bad for physical and mental health so do not forget to stretch your legs from time to time.

Efficient work

Creating a to do list might sound funny, but putting your obligations on a piece of paper will make your day a lot more organized. Obligations can be divided into several categories according to their extent. This way you will prevent forgetting about an important meeting or a very important task. Write these things down on sticky notes as soon as you arrive to work and place them on the monitor frame. Make sure you drink enough water and never skip breakfast if you want to function normally. Restore your concentration by making small breaks and by looking into the distance from time to time.

Air and light

It is very important to have enough fresh air in order to provide the right concentration and avoid sleepiness. To ensure the right air flow make sure you windows are in the working order. Light is also important so make sure you can remove the blinds every time you need more sunlight. If you have a rug inside your office you should keep it clean with steam mop which can create a positive illusion of fresh air.

In order to achieve success in your career you should always maintain a good relationship with your colleagues. Team work can sometimes help you achieve better results because you will always have someone to rely on. Trust is one of the key elements of any relationship and it is essential for providing a comfortable working atmosphere. By deciding to organize your office and increase your productivity you are probably aware of the fact that something has to change and that also includes your relationship with your co-workers.
