Offline Marketing: Why you should never limit yourself to Online Advertising

Milan Kundera's advice in terms of marketing is one of the biggest inspirations for people who set out with their business ventures. "Business has only two functions- marketing and innovation", he said, and this has indeed been the case for thousands of people who have been able to turn their hard work and passion into success. But marketing is a strategy that has become more analytical, disciplined and even 'cost-conscious' over the years. To effectively sell your business, you need to let your marketing campaign (whether it is online or offline) speak to your customers on a very personal level.

When it comes to the domain of online marketing, the best result we have is a direct and immediate access to people from all over the world. Geographic location no longer stays as a factor of hindrance. New companies are shelling out whatever money they can for search engine optimization and search engine marketing to let everybody know that their website exists. But often so, many forget that there is a need to develop an identity off the online market as well.

Your customers will not be spending all their time online every day. Rather, they will have to travel to their office for their work, and go out for dinner with their friends and families. They will be interacting outside of their house every day for numerous things. This is where you will have to get hold of their attention to make them aware that your Company exists. There are several ways in which you can do that.

  • Go for billboard advertisements. Remember that most of your customers will be commuting during the busy hours of the day and will probably be sitting in traffic for long hours. At this time, they are likely to be more receptive to your message when they see your Company being advertised on the bill boards.
  • Print media is very efficient as a marketing strategy as well. Print brochures, A0 posters and flyers which outline what your Company is all about, and distribute them amongst your target audience. Make sure that they go through your printed materials to become more familiar with your Company.
  • Business cards stands as an effective measure for anyone, whether they are working as freelancers or building giant corporations. You need people to know who you are. Make sure you make an impression with your business cards and that they are well designed. If they like it, they will be more eager to use your contact information to get to you.
  • Give away free pamphlets to people . Always try to make sure that you do not make your content more sales-like. Rather focus on offering genuine information that targets to make their lives better.
  • You can use your car as a billboard too. You can put up a sticker of the logo of your Company along with your contact information so that people can see it.
  • Create press releases for your new products and send them to your local newspaper or magazine for printing. This can also help you to boost your sales.
  • Try to provide sponsorship for community services, like sports and gym. You can even have the players wear t-shirts with your Company logo on them to gain maximum exposure.

These are just some of the methods you can utilize to make a difference. Marketing is all about maintaining high exposure. Never limit yourself to only online marketing, since you should not put all your eggs in only one basket. Try to integrate print services and online marketing, and you will soon start seeing a positive change!
