Running a Successful Coffee Shop

So many coffee shops are opening up these days that it can be difficult to stand out from the crowd. This infographic from Espresso Works looks at ways you can get ahead of your competition as just serving great coffee isn’t always enough.

One area many coffee shops miss a beat is on their social media. The majority will have their profiles set up but fewer will be using these platforms effectively. Coffee shops can have great visual content, so Instagram can be a particularly effective platform. Even posting pictures of one of the hundreds of cups of coffee you make every day will remind previous customers of what they’re missing out on and hopefully attract new ones.

Running effective in-store promotions is also important but you don’t want any promotions to affect your bottom line too much. Loyalty cards are a popular one but don’t make it too easy for a customer to get their free coffee. 10 is usually the sweet spot and you’d be surprised how effective this can be at bringing customers back to your place for coffee on a more regular basis.
