Semi-finalist Q&A: Living Green Chiropractic & Wellness

Living Green Chiropractic & Wellness helps people enjoy a healthier and happier life. They are an eco-friendly facility that focuses on the body as a whole, rather than a particular ailment. As a physician, she takes a full history from each patient and use that history to come up with a treatment plan specifically tailored to that patient.

How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have always been a conservationist by nature. It always made sense to me that recycling and reusing things were both good for the environment and also good for your wallet. So when I was looking to start my own business I decided to take my personal values and instill them into my business.

What do you love most about running your own business?

I love that I can treat my patients the way I see fit. I have no time limitations and I can use whichever therapy I feel is in the best interest of the patient. Not to mention I got to decorate the place all by myself!

What makes your business unique?

I have the only truly eco-friendly medical practice in all of Broward County Florida. I feel that is definitely unique. From the paint on the walls, to the furnishings, to the counter tops and the flooring, everything is done in a sustainable, environmentally friendly way.

What are some of your top business-related accomplishments, or business lessons learned?

Some of my business accomplishments are that I have partnered with the EPA as a green energy purchaser; my business is Green Office certified, and I am the only Chiropractic physician on the Plantation General Hospital campus. The biggest business lesson people should keep in mind is to keep your overhead as low as possible.

Idea Café regulars should vote for my business because I am literally running it completely by myself. I have absolutely no staff of any kind. I take on the roles of receptionist, office manager, billing person, secretary and doctor. I work very hard, and I am totally committed to my patients and their health. My goal is to have a positive effect on as many people’s lives as I can.
