Moth Attack

Moth Attack - Putting the Idea Cafe grant win to work!

Hello, Idea Cafe! First off, a big thank you to the folks here at Idea Cafe for giving me and other small business owners opportunities like this grant. I know how competitive grants are through my non-profit experience, so I'm thrilled to be on the receiving end of a grant with so many deserving applicants. I found Idea Cafe because of the grant and stayed for the advice they offer those of us still figuring this out. Building bicycles is the easy part for me. Learning how to run a business was a huge challenge for me, and I learn something new about it and myself everyday.

Moth Attack is the Winner of the Idea Cafe’s Eighth Small Business Grant

We take pleasure in announcing that Megan Dean, the owner of Moth Attack, is the recipient of the current Small Business Grant. With her impressive enthusiasm and love for building and designing custom steel bicycles and components, she instantly grabbed the hearts of our regulars and stood out amongst hundreds of other small business owners. Congratulations!

How did you come up with the idea for your business?

I was doing some retail design and fixture building/painting when I fell in love with bikes. I quit my job to spend a couple weeks riding from Seattle to San Francisco, and decided when I came back that I was going to take the obsession one step farther and build bikes myself.
