WOMbeat! - Putting the Idea Cafe grant win to work!

First of all, let me say how excited we here at WOMbeat! still are over the Idea Café “Innovation & Originality Grant” win. Not only did this win help us see a tremendous growth in traffic to our site, but we continue to get more coverage because of it. In fact, last week we were one of the guests on a talk-radio program called the Ceo Lounge. Listen for yourself here

So once the euphoria of winning the Idea Café grant began to wane, we here at WOMbeat! had to get back to work with our new home page and some other exciting new features for our WOMbeat website which we deployed just yesterday!

It may not seem like much, but hopefully this demonstrates that we do listen to the feedback from our users who told us that they would like to see the ability to search for business listings from the home page before signing up or logging in.

We also added an important new page just for business owners (like many of the Idea Café regulars) so they can learn more about WOMbeat! and what we can do for their business. Essentially, we know that word of mouth is the best form of advertising, and we want to generate more word of mouth referrals for great small businesses from our users. Now, this new page will help business owners learn how they can use WOMbeat! to generate more customer referrals and buzz about their business online.

In the coming weeks, we plan to release more new features on the site and even begin our expansion beyond the Florida borders. We also plan to continue to share our story with you as we grow, and we hope that our experiences are of value to all Idea Café regulars. Finally, let me again say that we are both thrilled and honored to have won this Idea Café grant. But we also know that we were in such great company as the other finalists. I wish all of them tremendous success in their ventures as well and hope that we can all work together in this community to help build multiple great businesses.
