Business Abroad: Which Countries Have the Best Job Markets?

Ever wish you could pack up your things and go on an adventure at the drop of a hat? Considering a job abroad is one way to stimulate your life and wallet with an exciting career. Recruitment agencies, job-seekers, and market-watchers rank countries around the globe for job market opportunities.

What to Understand
The job market waxes and wanes abroad just like it does here with the state of the economy dependent on the state of government affairs in times of war. Do your research and know that if you're just starting out in a degree field with a particular place in mind that country's economy could change drastically in the four years it takes you to earn your accolade. Rate what's important to you: working in your field, living conditions and amenities, raising a family, and security concerns.

Countries to Consider
China: Rated by surveys as one of the best entrepreneurial opportunity areas on the globe. China also has a huge infrastructure in need of skilled employees with great language skills and civil engineering degrees.

The United Kingdom: The Prime Meridian and London Stock Exchange makes the UK a strong contender for a great foreign economy. Glassdoor ranks it one of the best in Europe.

Canada: Low unemployment and steady job growth opportunities are abundant here. They have openings in the technology field and are becoming a great contender for these types of jobs.

Saudi Arabia: This country has a booming job market for security firms and the oil industry, but consider the uprisings that often occur here.

Switzerland: The Swiss have a low unemployment rate and high paying jobs, but they can be restrictive on immigrants for work permits.

Singapore: This country has a fast-growing job market and a high standard of living. It attracts businesses that send their employees abroad to manage companies.

Degree Paths to Consider
If your sights are set on working abroad, these degrees will give you an edge over the competition.

Biology: Field work abounds in other countries for hands-on research and sample collecting.

Engineering: Developing and established countries seek engineers to shore up their infrastructure.

International Affairs: A masters in international affairs will put you in front of the line for working with people and politics in many different places.

ESL Teacher: Jobs abound in this field can be found all over the world.

No matter your field, a little research and a solid degree goes a long way to spearhead your job search. Remember to consider the country's economic growth, living conditions, and infrastructure when making your decision to work abroad.
