Invent Success for Yourself on the Web

Don't we all want to invent something - we look at products and think, "Why couldn't I think of that?"

It's never too late or too early to come up with a great product. Some of the latest and greatest inventions are from kids, and some of the greatest in the past are, too, like the trampoline and the Popsicle.

As the following article shows, here's a look at a couple of the recent and “The best inventions made by kids”, and how they are marketing them with a great website.

The ManCan

Started by young entrepreneur, Hart Main, this is a candle company. But not just your average candle company.

When Hart's sister was selling candles to fundraise, he noticed that the scents were all too girly. So he came up with his idea for man candles - featuring scents like NY Style Pizza, New Mitt and fresh Cut Grass.

The beauty of this company is more than just the great scents, it's the fact that the candles are made and sold in soup cans after the soup is donated to soup kitchens to feed the hungry.

So though it is a for-profit company, there is an altruistic facet to it. And all by a kid who was 13 at the inception of his company. Not only is he receiving great publicity from the media, but his website man-cans.com, is a strong example of the way a site can promote a product.

Lizzie Marie Cuisine

This young chef has a great blog to market herself, featuring not only information about herself and her platform, but a shopping list and video clips of her cooking tips.

Lizzie is a teenage chef who is now on a series, "Healthy Cooking with Chef Lizzie" on WebMD's FIT kids' portal. Though this isn't a product to hold in your hand, it shows the entrepreneurship of a kid following her dream. She has not only the support of her family, but also Rachael Ray.

It was her dad who created her website, lizziemariecuisine.com, where she began sharing her skill for healthy cooking. She has gone on to receive prestigious grants and positions and is sure to have a bright future ahead.

With the Internet and a little skill at creating a website, inventors, even kids, have a new platform to market themselves. It's the perfect way to share knowledge, ideas, and products.

Before you get your product or image on the web, though, be sure you take any legal precautions so no one steals it from you. Once you've done that, you never know where Internet/website marketing can lead.

All it takes a little wildfire and an innovative idea, and you may be the next Hart or Lizzie.
