The Five Business Expenses That Can Be Cut Down Every Month

Whether you run your own business from home, or work in a managerial position at a larger company, there are certainly business expenses that can be cut down to save money. Some of these might be obvious, but others are likely expenses that never occurred to you could be eliminated.

1. Trash Removal

Many business have a rubbish removal service that comes by weekly or biweekly to remove trash from the premises. To cut down on costs, this service can be canceled, and the task added to a current employee's workload. If the business is run from home, the service likely includes more than trash. Rubbish removal service in Indianapolis often remove piles of leaves, furniture left on the curb, and more. This service is inexpensive and a great alternative to higher priced city-provided services.

2. Corporate Events

Those talks to make the company luncheon biannual aren't really necessary, are they? By cutting back on the number of events held by a company that aren't absolutely crucial to the continued growth of the company and morale of the employees, a business is able to save money and time that can be focused on where it matters most: productivity. Eliminating these events frees up the plates of employees who might otherwise be consumed with planning.

3. Travel Costs

Instead of flying halfway across the company for that one on one meeting with the national head of HR, meets can be held virtually through services such as Go2Meeting and others. Skype is even a viable option. These services are low cost, and allow large groups of people to communicate in real time, often even with video chat. This cuts out the need for large travel expense budgets, as only completely necessary travel will be needed then.

4. Electric and Utilities

While impossible to remove completely, but allowing days where the entire office telecommutes and works from home, a company is able to greatly reduce the amount spent each month on lighting, cooling, and other utility expenses like that. It has also been shown that telecommuting part of the time makes employees more productive and encourages longer stays of employment.

5. Marketing

By using freelance copywriters, a company can get their marketing done for a single fee instead of providing benefits and office space to a full marketing team. This is often a mutually beneficial agreement, as freelancers are motivated and work harder than employees within an office. They can also be hired on a per-needed basis, unlike a marketing team which is always at work even if there is no marketing to be done.

These are just a few business expenses that can be eliminated. If you dig deep and think of others, do whatever you can to save yourself or your company money, and you'll see the rewards of it.
