How Much Social Media Does Your Business Need?

It really does not matter whether you run a large, midsize or small business, social media should always be in the mix.

If your company has been taking to the social airwaves for a while now, then you likely have seen the benefits from it. Those, however, who are new or have not really used social media to much of a degree up to this point, are frankly missing out on some golden opportunities to support their brands.

While 2015 is moving along at a quick pace, there is still plenty of time to direct your company to socializing its marketing efforts this year and beyond.

Manage Your Social Networks Properly

In order to get the most out of your social media efforts, here are a few pointers to guide you in the right direction:

  1. Plan – Before you do anything else, make sure you have a social media plan in place. You can’t and shouldn’t just be randomly tweeting, sharing and pinning without some focus. Let’s say you have a presence on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. What should you put in those sites? How often should you post to them? Can you post too little or too often? These are all part of your strategy which will further be defined here.
  2. Posts – With your plan and sites in place, you can now move on to posting. If your brand is https://www.vonagedeals.com/, you want to promote it on social media with the idea that such a product can save consumers on their home phone bills. While just about everyone has a phone in their home (landline or cell), there are certain demographics that are more apt to be interested in such a product. People from recent college grads to senior citizens would be a good target range for starters. Yes, many younger people live solely on their cell phones, but others have landlines at home and/or might be looking for a phone product which serves both home phones and iPhones and Android smartphones. Meantime, many senior citizens are still what you might call “traditional phone customers” in that they are not as crazy about cell phones. With seniors’ oftentimes looking to save money, a few tweets, shares, pins about your phone products and services could land you some new customers;
  3. Precision – The last big area of focus is on the amount of time you spend on social media. While you do not need to be a social media junkie 24/7/365, you do need to set aside some quality time and effort. Zero-in on targeted tweets, shares and more. Twitter is a good site for you to tweet and RT links to articles of interest tied to your specific industry. Meantime, you can use Facebook to run surveys and poll questions, plus offer contests. The last option is a great means to bring more consumers to your Facebook page and ultimately your website. With Pinterest and Instagram, you can post photos of your products/services, giving consumers an up-close look at what you offer.

If you’ve been a little slow to gravitate towards social media, make it your business to change that decision now.
