Tips & Tricks for Throwing the Best Company Party

Want to promote your business and get your name out there? Or just want to celebrate a milestone or a special event that happened with your company? Whatever the occasion, we’re here to give you all the tips and trick you need to make sure you don’t forget anything on your to-do list and that your party is the talk of the town for a long time!

What are we celebrating?

To throw any good party, you must have a good reason for it. Make sure that the theme of your party is clear to everyone: make a banner, stand-out invitations or have themed decorations all over the venue.

Another thing to think about is whom the party is being thrown for? Is it for your employees? Your customers? Make sure you know who is attending so you can adjust the setting and entertainment accordingly. If the party is for your customers, make sure you have the mission of your company clearly displayed somewhere, and give at least one speech thanking them and inviting them to cooperate with you in the future. If you’re throwing an employee-only party, then you can talk more in-depth about your future plans and campaigns – just make sure you don’t turn the party into a business meeting!

Checklist

To make sure there are no minute-to-midnight runs to the supermarket, here are some tips for creating the ultimate checklist:

  • Catering – Food and drinks have to be plentiful and to ensure that there are enough utensils, napkins and glasses, hiring a caterer is a smart move.
  • Decorations – Make sure your party has a cohesive look by making the decorations fit your company colors, or the project you are celebrating.
  • Entertainment – Book a DJ, band, or any other entertainment you have in mind on time, and make sure you have all the necessary equipment needed for the performance.
  • Invitations – Your invitations should look professional, but inviting and should clearly state the date, time, location, as well as the reason for the celebration, is it exclusive, +1, or open, is it black tie or casual, and any other information that might be useful for your guests.
  • The devil is in the details – The details differ for every party, but here are some that might help: Party favors, mosquito repellants, outdoor lighting, photographer, products for testing or sale, fundraising campaign, or anything else you can think of!

The Venue

The most important part of planning any party is the venue, and the options are limitless! …Or maybe not.
Any party planner can dream up an ideal location for a party! The trick is knowing how to work with what you have and how to transform an ordinary space into a pop-up party club. The first option might seem obvious, but it is often overlooked:

  • The office – Throwing a party at your office might seem bland and boring, but it is actually an amazing budget-friendly option, and a unique way to give your customers and insight into how you run your daily business. With a bit of planning and some furniture moving, your desk space can become the center of the dance floor! But if you don’t want the whole party to be at your office, but you still want to show it off, you can take your guests to your offices, do a quick introduction, and then go to a
  • Venue near your offices – Booking a venue that is near your workplace can be a great help with storing extra food or bringing in extra chairs. It is also good for outfit changes, band preparation area and a quiet place to rest if the party gets a bit too hectic.
  • Outdoor – Every party is made better if it’s held outdoors. The atmosphere is lighter, people are often more relaxed but there’s a few extra steps of preparation to be done: Make sure your outdoor area is on solid ground, so the ladies attending your party won’t get their heels stuck in the grass. Secondly, outdoor parties are always held on nice and sunny days, but you never know when the weather can change! Get waterproof shade sails to make sure that in the unfortunate event of rain, you still have dry guests and a dry space to continue the fun!

Make sure you divide your work amongst a few people and make everyone in charge of a specific task! Now you have all the tools, so make that checklist, get that amazing venue and go throw the brilliant party you have always dreamed of, featuring all your favorite people.
